First, select the Rosh Hashanah Collection.
OPTION #1
1.1a) Choose the Rosh Hashanah plate from Backgrounds > Tables
1.1b) Go to Stickers > Simanim and add the correct image for each prayer
OPTION #2
1.2a) From Backgrounds > Worksheets, select a worksheet that includes the Simanim and the prayers for each of the symbolic foods.
1.2b) Go to Stickers > Simanim and add the correct image for each prayer
2a) Select the Rosh Hashanah Collection
2b) Choose one of the Backgrounds > Scenes for Tashlich which will include a river or other pool of water
2c) Place a Character by the water
2d) Select the words of Micah from Torah Text > Neviim, Micah 7:19 of וְתַשְׁלִיךְ בִּמְצֻלוֹת יָם כָּל־חַטֹּאתָם, or in English, “and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea”
2e) Choose the type of bubble background, if any, you want for the Torah text
Tell the pupils that according to our Rabbis, the three things we can do to ensure we have good year ahead are:
3a) Select the Rosh Hashanah Collection
3b) Choose a Comic strip Background with 4 frames
3c) For the first frame, got to the Torah Text > Tefilot, choose the ‘Unetane Tokef’ prayer and select the phrase
וּתְשׁוּבָה וּתְפִלָּה וּצְדָקָה מַעֲבִירִין אֶת רֹֽעַ הַגְּזֵרָה
(Note: The Tefilot menu contains editable text extracts from the Machzor for Rosh Hashanah.)
3d) Alternatively, you can go to Stickers > Labels and choose the word stickers (not editable)
3e) In the second frame, choose or create a picture depicting an act of Teshuvah
3f) In the third frame, choose or create a picture depicting an act of Tefillah
3g) Finally, in the fourth frame, choose or create a picture depicting an act of Tzedakah
Explain to the students that there are three sounds blown on a shofar:
4a) Select the Rosh Hashanah Collection
4b) From Backgrounds > Comics, select a comic strip with 3 frames
4c) In the first frame, include a picture of a boy or girl blowing the shofar, and add the sticker with the name תקיעה as well as a recording of this sound.
4d) To add in a sound, tap the Sound icon and either record the sound yourself, or use a sound sticker. Place the sound sticker in that comic frame. When you Share the comic, the sound will be included!
4e) In the second frame, include a picture of a boy or girl blowing the shofar, and add the sticker with the name שברים as well as a recording of this sound
4f) In the third frame, include a picture of a boy or girl blowing the shofar, and add the sticker with the name תרועה as well as a recording of this sound
Think about the message you want to share to a friend or family member as part of a Rosh Hashanah greeting card
5a) Select the JI STUDIO Rosh Hashanah Collection
5b) Choose a template for a Rosh Hashanah greeting card from Backgrounds > Worksheets
5c) Design the front of the card, using Rosh Hashanah Stickers
5d) Now, use the template for the inside of the card. Using the Text Tool, write a Rosh Hashanah greeting.
5e) Save your cards, back and front, to your device. Print them out, cut them up, stick them together and send them out to your friends!
